Private Opportunity Map For Katrina

Babe, Here Is The Whole Picture

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” — Proverbs 29:18

I’ve always believed vision matters, but I’m learning that vision is not just for churches, businesses, armies, and big ideas. Marriage needs vision too.

This is not a defense brief. This is not me saying, “Look how busy I am.” This is me opening the blinds so you can see what I’m carrying, what I’m building, what is unfinished, what the opportunities are, and where I need your partnership.

My priority order is simple: husband first, father second, son third. The businesses are not above our marriage. They are tools I am trying to build so I can better provide, protect, serve, and create options for us. The house is the mission. Everything else is scaffolding. Just sayin’.

1. The Husband Sentiment

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” — Amos 3:3

Babe, I asked how I was measuring up because I wanted truth, not applause. You gave me truth. I heard you.

You named real things: financial visibility, planning, follow-through, the car, household items, and the need to feel like our life has a clear direction. That matters.

I also realized you may be seeing the unfinished pieces without always seeing the whole board. That is on me. If I am carrying things privately, then getting frustrated that you do not fully understand the weight, that is bad communication dressed up as endurance.

So this page is my attempt to say: come into the cockpit with me. Not because I need you to fly every plane. But because I need us looking at the same radar.

2. My Priority Order

PriorityWhat It MeansWhat Needs To Improve
HusbandBuild peace, trust, visibility, affection, financial clarity, shared vision, and spiritual covering with you.Better follow-through, clearer planning, more household visibility, and making home feel settled.
FatherHelp my children launch well, not create permanent dependence.Better boundaries, clearer expectations, and knowing when support becomes over-functioning.
SonHonor Mom and help her continue adjusting to Charlotte after moving last year.Support her sustainably without letting every need become an emergency.
Provider / BuilderUse business, ministry, writing, insurance, consulting, and real estate to create stability and opportunity.Focus, execution, revenue discipline, delegation, and fewer shiny objects.

3. The Real Tension

You have said I do too much for the kids and that they have a mother too. I hear that. We may not always agree on what is too much, too little, or necessary.

My heart is not to be everybody’s savior. Jesus already has that job, and I am not applying.

I am trying to be a faithful husband, a responsible father, and an honorable son — in that order. But I also understand that if I am not careful, the people I love can all become loud at the same time, and you can end up feeling like you are waiting in line behind everybody else.

That is not what I want.

4. Family Map

  • Jaden: settled now after a season of greater need. He mainly needs guidance, mentorship, and periodic check-ins.
  • Naja: nursing school support, encouragement, stability, and launch planning.
  • Anaya: Botswana again, Howard graduation next year, and transition into her next chapter.
  • Nyree: figuring out her next step now that she is not going back to USC in the fall.
  • Aria: getting her moving, focused, structured, and prepared.
  • Mom: continuing to adjust to Charlotte after relocating last year.

5. Where I Need Your Help

  • Help me discern when I am helping versus over-functioning.
  • Help me prioritize what must be handled now versus what can wait.
  • Help me build a household plan that makes you feel secure.
  • Help me see blind spots without us turning every conversation into court.
  • Help me protect our marriage while still loving the people connected to us.

6. Our Two-Year Plan: Creating Space For The Life We Say We Want

Over the next two years, I want us to move from pressure to clarity. Not perfect. Clear. Not busy. Fruitful. Not just surviving the calendar, but creating space for marriage, faith, family, calling, and freedom.

Year One: Stabilize, Simplify, And Strengthen

  • Marriage: create a monthly money meeting, a weekly check-in, and a regular date rhythm.
  • Home: finish delayed household items, including bedroom furniture and agreed home priorities.
  • Finances: build a shared financial dashboard showing income, bills, debts, goals, and upcoming needs.
  • Business: identify the top two revenue priorities instead of treating every brand like an emergency.
  • Kids: create launch plans for the children who are in transition while reducing unnecessary rescue mode.
  • Mom: help her build a Charlotte rhythm that includes community, independence, and support.
  • Faith: find and commit to a faith community where we can worship, serve, and be known.
  • Katrina’s Calling: intentionally create space for counseling, bakery, ministry, writing, speaking, or whatever God is stirring in you.

Year Two: Secure, Launch, And Build Forward

  • Residence: position ourselves to secure another residence, likely in a new location.
  • Marriage: deepen our shared rhythm so we are not just managing life but enjoying each other.
  • Business Brands: stabilize InnerShift360, Just Sayin’, South Elm Capital, ISBS, and HomesIn704 into clear lanes with measurable outcomes.
  • Children: help all but two of the kids complete school or move through their current transition season.
  • Income: create more consistent revenue through South Elm, ISBS, book/product sales, speaking, and real estate opportunities.
  • Systems: use VAs, GHL, SOPs, and automation to reduce chaos, not multiply it.
  • Faith & Community: be planted somewhere spiritually, relationally, and emotionally.
  • Freedom: create more room for travel, rest, service, family, and purpose.

What “Creating Space” Means

  • Space for us to talk without always troubleshooting.
  • Space for you to be pursued, not just informed.
  • Space for me to build without disappearing into the build.
  • Space for the kids to grow without becoming permanent emergencies.
  • Space for Mom to be loved without every adjustment landing on me alone.
  • Space for God to lead instead of us just reacting to pressure.

7. To Katrina, My Wife

Babe,

If you've read this far, you've seen the plans, the opportunities, the responsibilities, the brands, the children, the future goals, the unfinished projects, the things that keep me awake at night, and the things that get me out of bed in the morning.

You've seen the map.

But before we get into the supporting details, I want to make sure you don't miss the destination.

Because the destination has never been a business.

It has never been a website, a book, an insurance policy, a real estate opportunity, a consulting client, a speaking engagement, a social media account, or a funnel.

Those things matter. But they are tools.

You are the why.

When Solomon wrote, “Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it,” I don't think he was talking about perfect people living perfect lives.

I think he was talking about what happens when real life shows up. Children. Parents. Bills. Businesses. Dreams. Disappointments. Unexpected detours. The kind of things that can either pull two people apart or teach them how to hold on tighter.

Life has a way of sending floods. Yet somehow, in the middle of all of that, God brought us together.

One of the things I love most about you is that you don't let me hide behind my strengths. A lot of people see the speaker, the chaplain, the entrepreneur, the author, the guy with another idea, another project, another opportunity map, another website, another plan.

You see the man.

And every now and then, when that man starts running too fast, you have a way of grabbing his sleeve and saying, “Slow down, Brother Moses. The Promised Land will still be there tomorrow.”

Truth be told, I need that.

I need your wisdom. I need your perspective. I need your honesty. And yes, apparently I need periodic reminders that washing a car is not the same thing as taking care of a car. Message received.

The older I get, the more I realize marriage isn't finding someone who agrees with everything you say. It's finding someone whose voice becomes too valuable to ignore.

You've become that for me.

Song of Solomon says, “Thou hast ravished my heart.” Now that's old King James language. If Solomon were from Charlotte, he probably would've said: “Babe, you've still got me.”

And that's the truth.

You've still got me.

When I see you smile. When you laugh so hard you have to catch your breath. When you talk about helping people. When you challenge me. When you love your family. When you tell me something I don't necessarily want to hear but probably need to hear.

You've still got me.

One of the things I want most over the next two years is not just to build businesses. I want to build space.

Space for us. Space for peace. Space for purpose. Space for your calling. Space for our marriage to breathe. Space for us to sit on a porch somewhere, watch the sun go down, and talk about things other than obligations.

I want to travel with you. Pray with you. Laugh with you. Serve with you. Grow old with you.

I want to watch you become everything God has placed inside of you. Not just support your dreams. Champion them. Not just admire your gifts. Help make room for them.

Because I don't believe God brought us together so one of us could shine while the other one watched. I believe He brought us together so we could build something neither of us could build alone.

Ecclesiastes says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.” That's what I want. Not my reward. Not your reward. Our reward.

Our life. Our story. Our legacy.

And when all the websites eventually get redesigned, the books go out of print, the social media algorithms change, the businesses evolve, and the opportunities come and go, I hope there is one thing that never comes into question:

You were never competing with those things.
Those things were always supposed to be serving what we are building together.

You are still my answered prayer. Still my favorite conversation. Still the woman I look for when I walk into a room. Still the woman I want beside me when the dust settles.

And if the Lord allows, I intend to spend the rest of my life proving that.

I love you, Babe.

Love,
James

“My beloved is mine, and I am his.” — Song of Solomon 2:16

9. Content, Assessments, SOPs, And Tools Already Created

A lot has already been built. These are not just ideas floating around in my head. There are pages, quizzes, funnels, SOPs, content systems, VA assignments, and brand assets already in motion.

10. VA Team

Ralph

Video editing, social clips, Just Sayin’ episodes, South Elm content, animated/comic-style formats.

Chiara

Podcast outreach, book placement, Goodreads/library/review submissions, outreach tracking, and media opportunities.

Periscal

Social optimization, LinkedIn/ISBS prospecting, content calendar support, captions, hooks, engagement, and weekly execution.

11. The Future Of The Team

The VAs are not just expenses. Properly managed, they become leverage.

  • Ralph turns ideas into content assets.
  • Chiara turns content and books into exposure.
  • Periscal turns content and outreach into conversations.
  • GHL should eventually turn conversations into follow-up and appointments.

The opportunity is to build a machine where I am not manually touching every piece forever. The risk is paying people while still carrying the whole thing myself. That is why clarity matters.

12. Opportunities Ahead

  • Short-term money: South Elm protection reviews and policy sales.
  • Near-term consulting: ISBS lead leak audits and small business systems retainers.
  • Book ecosystem: Just Sayin’ book sales, paid quizzes, digital products, and speaking.
  • Long-term platform: InnerShift360 as the umbrella for books, speaking, courses, spiritual care, and business growth.
  • Wealth lane: HomesIn704 as a real estate and housing opportunity platform.
  • Family stability: a new residence, clearer household rhythm, and a stronger faith community.
  • Your calling: creating room for you to step into what God has placed in you.

The opportunity is real. But the next season requires focus, execution, and household alignment. I cannot treat every idea like it has equal urgency.

13. What Is Still To Be Done

Financial Visibility Household Plan Vehicle Care Rhythm Furniture / Home Completion GHL Follow-Up VA Accountability Book Sales Funnel Insurance Sales Rhythm ISBS Client Acquisition Kids Launch Plan Mom Support Plan Faith Community
  • Create a simple household financial dashboard we can both see.
  • Decide the top three home priorities for the next 30–60 days.
  • Clarify how much support each child needs and what boundaries are appropriate.
  • Build a support rhythm for Mom that is loving but sustainable.
  • Decide which brand gets the most attention for immediate income.
  • Keep VAs focused on revenue-producing work, not random activity.
  • Create a weekly review so we both know what is happening.
