Personhood
Representation is not the person.
Human formation in an age of artificial intelligence
AI can improve the work without being permitted to displace the human capacity, judgment, formation, or presence the work exists to cultivate.
Formation Before Permission
This is a decision prompt, not an assessment or institutional verdict. No email is required. Your result is provisional.
Name the capacity—not the output. Examples: judgment, writing, discernment, empathy, critical reasoning, responsibility, presence.
Name the human capacity before continuing.
Choose how central the capacity is.
Choose the effect AI would have on the capacity.
Choose a provisional institutional response.
Presence deserves special scrutiny when the consequence is formative, caring, adjudicative, witnessing, or covenantal.
Identify who remains answerable before seeing the result.
Before implementation, identify who remains answerable and whether the decision requires human presence.
Efficiency is not the only value at stake. Who must still exercise judgment, bear responsibility, undergo formation, or show up in person for this practice to remain humanly adequate?
Discuss this decision for 20 minutes ↗The ReHuman frame
ReHuman extends the conversation beyond AI literacy, compliance, and governance into human formation: what persons and institutions must still be able to do, become, answer for, and embody.
Representation is not the person.
An answer is not enough; someone must remain answerable.
The artifact is not the formation.
Some value requires someone to show up.
Read the ReHuman university brief and the logic behind the framework.
Read the brief →Use the ReHuman Formation Index to surface where AI may be strengthening or displacing human capacity.
Take the RFI →Identify what is actually at stake and whether a ReHuman Decision Lab would help.
Book a conversation →In a 20-minute conversation, we will identify what is at stake and determine whether a ReHuman Decision Lab would help.
James brings more than AI expertise to this work: a career spanning law, ministry, military chaplaincy, executive formation, organizational leadership, and applied ethics. ReHuman grows from sustained work with people and institutions when judgment, responsibility, formation, and presence matter.
